Vitashield Academy is an American Heart Association Training Site committed to providing the highest-quality, evidence-based life-saving education to healthcare professionals, first responders, workplace teams, schools, and community members. As a veteran-led organization, we specialize in hands-on, scenario-driven training that prepares students not just to pass a test, but to perform when lives are on the line.

Every VitaShield instructor is a veteran of the United States military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard), active or retired law enforcement officer, career firefighter, paramedic, or EMT with years of real-world experience. Our instructors have performed CPR in combat, managed cardiac arrests on firegrounds, controlled hemorrhage during active shooter incidents, and stabilized patients in the back of moving ambulances. Their firsthand knowledge of high-stress, low-margin environments brings unmatched realism and credibility to every class.

We teach the complete line of American Heart Association courses using the newly released 2025 Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. All materials, videos, algorithms, and skills sessions have been updated to reflect the latest science, including stronger emphasis on opioid overdose recognition and naloxone administration, a unified Chain of Survival, rescue breathing for trained responders, and the new adult choking sequence of back blows followed by abdominal thrusts.

Our course offerings include Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider and Renewal for healthcare professionals, Heartsaver CPR AED, Heartsaver First Aid, Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED, and Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens for lay rescuers and workplace groups. The 2025 updates are fully integrated into every program, with dedicated opioid-associated emergency response training now standard in both BLS and all Heartsaver courses. We also provide the latest HeartCode blended learning options, Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) programs, and custom on-site training tailored to military units, police and fire departments, hospitals, and corporations.
